If you are like us at Fly-Fishing Travel we like to explore new and different locations Diamond R Ranch is just that! Fish some of the most pristine waters of the lower 48. Native Cutthroat trout and the legendary Bull trout. Guided fly fishing on the Southfork of the Flathead, Spotted Bear River or walk wade to Many of the tributary creeks.
As the Road opens in Spring, so will Diamond R lodge. A Full service operation, including a full service kitchen and bar. Enjoy a beer from one of our local breweries or choose something special from our wine bar. Our Kitchen is open to the public for lunch and dinner. Stop in and grab a burger and a beer!
Our dinner menu will be an extension from our lunch menu plus we will have a Chefs Special each night of the week.
We are open from May 15 - December 1 If the road is open, so are we!!

The South Fork of the Flathead River begins deep in the heart of Bob Marshall Wilderness complex, one of the nations largest designated wilderness areas.
The fishing in the South Fork of the Flathead River is, quite simply, excellent above Hungry Horse Reservoir for cutthroat trout, especially the portion of the river that lies in the wilderness area. The reason for that is two fold. First, Montana Fish & Game imposed strict special wilderness limits years ago. The result is that anglers now sometimes struggle to catch fish that are small enough to keep. The second, and somewhat obvious, reason is that in order to reach the river in the wilderness area requires considerable time and energy, as it lies in a very remote setting by any standard.
Diamond R guides know the river intimately, you will float in comfortable rafts, fish from the boat at times and also wade to stalk big fish. Your day on the water will include a nice shore lunch and beverages.
Accommodations
Diamond R's lodge is perfectly perched above the Spotted Bear River. The deck is our claim to fame. Home to thousands of hummingbirds in the summer and jutting out over the river you could sit here for days. Inside you'll find a nice dining room and sportsman's bar.
The Bar and Kitchen are Open to the Public 7 days a week.
Stop in and get a cold beer and burger and enjoy it on the deck.
The Cabins
With 10 historic and rustic guest cabins spread out across the complex there is room for all and something for everyone. Each cabin has it's own charm and appeal. The cabins do not have their own bathrooms so located in the center of the ranch is a full bathhouse with separate sides for men and women. We provide towels and toiletries so need to pack extra.
Pets are allowed with a $50 cleaning fee and we ask that they stay off the furniture please and thank you!

Getting There
Our address is 9001 South Fork Road East, Martin City, MT 59926.
Make travel arrangements to Glacier Park International Airport, MT. Take US Rte 2 north, in 5 miles, turn right to stay on US Rte 2. in 14.5 miles turn right onto Hungry Horse Dam Rd. / NF 895, west side rd. in 22 miles stay left to follow NF895. 59 miles turn left to stay on West Side rd. NF 895. at 70 miles turn right onto East Side rd.
Our ranch is just past the 53 mile marker on your left. We are just before Spotted Bear Ranger Station. Pass Abbott and Emery Creeks, STAY on the gravel road. Do not take any turns. Even if feel like you are on the wrong road, relax and enjoy the drive and keep going until Mile Marker 53!!
